Issa Ba'abish, “Abu George,” is our head chef and joined the Notre Dame Jerusalem team in 2012. He is responsible for the overall management of the menu, meal preparation, and kitchen staff.
Issa brings over 20 years of experience in culinary arts, has participated in regional culinary exhibitions, and is also responsible for the annual Greek Orthodox Christmas banquet at Nativity Church. Additionally, he teaches culinary arts at St. Joseph School in Bethlehem.
Issa is a Bethlehem native and is married with four children.
Issa has a diploma in hotel management.
