Gabriel Mitchell was appointed the director of undergraduate studies for the University of Notre Dame in Jerusalem in August 2021.
Gabriel has a background in both public policy and study abroad education. He most recently held the position of director of dxternal relations at the Mitvim Institute, a foreign policy think tank. He is a leading voice on energy and climate issues in the region, and regularly participates in regional dialogues addressing these topics. Prior to that, Gabriel spent many years working for an academic gap-year program based in Jerusalem. He has also led the Semester for Global Engagement program at Virginia Tech University's Washington, D.C.
Gabriel holds a B.A. in History from The Ohio State University and an M.A. in Political Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is completing his doctorate in Government & International Affairs at Virginia Tech University.
Gabriel speaks fluent English and Hebrew.
