Arabi Weekend

עברית

Arabi Weekend is a yearlong Arabic study program that takes place on weekends, ultimately on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning once every three weeks. The program focuses on spoken Arabic in the Palestinian dialect, and the location is the beautiful campus of the University of Notre Dame in Jerusalem.

The program is designed to meet the needs of those with busy schedules who have no background in Arabic and are keen to learn the language and gain a nuanced understanding of the local Arabic culture.

Graduates of the program will be able to conduct an effective conversation in Arabic (Palestinian dialect) on everyday and social topics, and will be well acquainted with the characteristics of Arab culture and Arab society in the region.

The program's learning process is dynamic and the content is very rich and diverse. The program includes special activities, e.g. study trips, experiential learning, and practice in real-life settings. These will take place either at Notre Dame Jerusalem's campus or in nearby Arab-speaking locations.
